WHY WESTERN AND ENGLISH SADDLES AND TACK DON'T FIT?
The Paso Fino horses are usually smaller in size, averaging 13.2 to 15 hands, shorter backs, higher withers and smaller mouths.
THEREFORE, Using a traditional western or gaited horse saddles made with wood or other synthetic hard materials which are placed directly on the horse's back. This tree is sometimes great for the rider's because it provides a solid seat for security and, if made correctly, can also be comfortable - for the rider, however from the horse's point of view is much different.
When this traditional rigid tree is girthed to the horse it is basically the equivalent of a splint on the horse's spine, not to mention the additional pressure and pain when a rider climbs on! The horse's performance suffers immediately because they will quickly learn to limit their movement to avoid the pressure and pain caused by a solid tree saddle.
Traditional saddles also cause pressure points and rubbing problems which lead to saddle soring due to the saddle not allowing free movement for the horse and because traditional saddles generally do not have a large enough surface area to spread the weight of the rider comfortably on the horse's back.
Not to mention, the traditional saddles are not designed for the high withers and shorter backs which result in multiple problems such as, brusing the horse's kidneys and spin area. The horse's will ride great for a few days then out of the blue will start backing up, spinning trying to get rid of what's causing his pain. NO ONE want's to ride a horse acting up!
Now we have a new problem, bad habits! Now we have just taught our Paso Fino that we get off when he acts up, so he will act up when he wants to stay at home. I have heard this from many of our customers time and time again, "My horse does great one or two days, then out of the blue he or she will start spinning or backing up when we are climbing up or coming down steep hills".
If you think about it, why doesn't my horse do this everyday? Most of us don't ride 7 days a week and the soreness has had time to start healing, so by the time we have ridden the 2nd day in a row his kidneys, spine or back is inflamed again, thus causing acute pain to our horse. We know that its a horse's nature to flee from things that scare or hurt them, so by spinning, backing, rearing, etc. they are merely trying to rid what is hurting them.

We are using state of the Art Memory Foam Padding from the Paso Fino horse's shoulders to behind the Cantle which contour to fit the horse and flex while riding to allow the horse free movement which automatically adapts to the horse's shap. The saddle tree never touches the horse. The seat is padded with the same memory foam which is coutoured for the rider's comfort and security, always positioning you correctly in the seat.
Saddle soring and performance problems are a thing in the past. The Altenera saddles provide three times the weight bearing surface of traditional saddles, which spreads the weight of the saddle and rider over a larger surface area. This reduces the weight per square inch on the horse and distributes this weight more evenly reducing pressure points for the horse. The memory foam padding also move with the horse while riding. This allows the horse a much greater range of motion and reduces friction caused by the saddle. These features combine to prevent bruising, swelling, dry spots and white hairs seen on horses with improperly fitting saddles.
